Like most things Porsche, the 2010 Porsche Panamera 4S isn't easy to classify. At first, we were tempted to call it a squashed Cayenne, but the driving characteristics took that comparison out of the running. And although we were reminded of the 911 4S while behind the wheel, we just couldn't bring ourselves to call it a stretched 911.
No, Porsche came up with a unique new car that stands on its own in the model lineup. In broad strokes it takes its place among German flagship sedans such as the BMW 750i, the Mercedes-Benz S550, and the Audi A8, but the Panamera 4S's sport handling makes those other cars look like stately luxo-barges.
Of course, the fastback design of the Panamera also puts it in its own class. Yes, that is a full hatchback at the rear providing a tall luggage area--a strange hint of practicality in such a pricey vehicle. The first spy shots of the Panamera produced quite a bit of negative reaction towards its styling and, though that was mostly undeserved, the long cabin does give it an odd proportion. After spending some time with it, we've come to like the rear quarter and the nose section quite a bit.
Luxury interior, sports car ride.

Sitting in the cabin, the fine leather, woodwork, and metal components led us to expect a luxury ride. But the seats were surprisingly hard, and the suspension didn't exactly smooth out the timeworn asphalt of city streets. Instead, the car let us feel the road as a sports car would, communicating changes in the pavement so we could react accordingly.

Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki India to launch its sedan Kizashi 2 February. According to reports, the vehicle can be imported into the local parent Suzuki entirely in Japan, is located between the likes of Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.

These cars are priced at about Rs. RS 12 lakh. 20 lakh. The company is considering mounting Kizashi in India, in the future if demand warranted, but declined to give time.

Kizashi is powered by a 2.4 liter gasoline engine and is available in both manual and automatic transmission options, and was officially launched the second report in February said.

"Maruti has changed his image for years to a younger society. We want our customers and continue to be a product available from our team as they progress in life," he added. With the launch date scheduled for February Kizashi 2, the company will initially focus on the 11 largest cities, followed by 20.

Which represents 63 percent and 80 percent in the market for such cars. Positioned as a "luxury sports sedan" which shared the petrol Grand Vitara's 2.4-liter increase in power of 170 horsepower. Be available in two options of automatic and manual transmission.

2011 Kia Sportage Gets Sportier

After taking the Sportage from cheap to chic, Kia is adding more sport to their smallest crossover SUV for 2011 with the addition of the top-of-the-heap SX trim.

The most notable addition for the 2011 Sportage SX will be the direct-injected turbo four-cylinder engine, already found in the 2011 Kia Optima SX and 2011 Hyundai Sonata Turbo. The turbo four will be putting down slightly less power than in the sedan applications, estimated at 256 hp and 264 lb-ft. That’s a whopping 80 more horses and just shy of 100 more lb-ft of twist over the current four-cylinder offered in the Sportage. All this extra power shouldn’t come with a mileage penalty, either. The EPA estimates the 2011 Sportage SX to do 22/27 city/highway mpg in front-wheel drive form and 21/25 city/highway mpg if you opt for all-wheel drive. That is a difference of 4 mpg in front-wheel drive form and 3 mpg in all-wheel drive form, both on the highway.


Look for the sportier Sportage to hit US streets later in Q1. Kia’s US office has been mum on pricing so far, but our neighbors to the north are looking at CAD$36,995 for the Sportage SX. That rings in at just over $37,000 US, but if the Optima pricing is any indication, look for US Sportage SX pricing to fall around seven grand more than the $18,990 (destination included) price tag for the base Sportage.

Sometimes the weather can be cruel. Very cruel. Especially when you are scheduled to test one of the fastest production cars available for under $100k and the forecast calls for lots of rain and cold temperatures. Sure, rolling up to the multiplex in a car that can run with Ferraris and Lamborghinis is kinda cool, but oh what would we have given for some nicer testing conditions.

New 2012 Ford Focus ST

The new Ford Focus ST – which features a unique 247 hp version of the 2.0-liter Ford EcoBoost engine – will be completely true to Ford’s ST heritage, offering driving enthusiasts an intoxicating cocktail of exhilarating performance and handling accompanied by an addictive sound. The four-cylinder engine which produces 247 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque is mated exclusively to a six-speed manual transmission.

Ford’s new torque-vectoring power control system is on hand, which should keep the front wheels in line, as front-wheel-drive turbo cars are always prone to understeer and torque steer.

The 2012 Focus ST debuts looks good in its new Tangerine Scream color on the bulgier, more aggressive Focus. The wheel wells are fully filled out with attractive 19-inch alloys in the Blue Oval’s signature Y-spoke ST pattern. Additionally, the trapezoidal grille has been raised on the front fascia, making way for additional lower air intakes. We surmise Ford isn’t keen on offering the base Focus with the LED eyebrow in America, but we sincerely hope that it is left intact on the U.S.-spec Focus ST. Out back, the Focus’ rear bumper has been completely reworked to incorporate a diffuser setup with a center-mounted sport exhaust.
